- Will this work on a Celestron 8 Ultima 2000 (an older scope)? Looks like it should be a fit but I'm not positive.

Yes - this will fit your scope. It is just a few Celestron SCTs from the late 1970s and the early 1980s that used SCT threads with a slightly different thread pitch that might have problems with any of today's SCT-threaded accessories.
