About William Optics Telescopes & Accessories

William Optics is a Taiwanese telescope and accessories company founded in 1996 by amateur astronomer William Yang. His goal was simple: to create affordable, top quality refractor telescopes for everyone.

William has absolutely accomplished his goal, and now has a number of very popular refractor telescope lines. These include entry-level refractors like the Zenithstar series all the way up to top-of-the-line Fluorostar series. Some of William Optics’ most well-known telescopes include:

The telescopes William and his team produce are especially popular for widefield and deep sky astrophotography. Many of these refractors are made with high quality components, glass, and optical performance.

The company also makes a wide variety of accessories for both visual astronomy and astrophotography, including eyepieces, diagonals, t-rings, field flatteners, reducer/flatteners, focusers, rotators, Bahtinov masks, and more. It’s truly hard to go wrong with a telescope or accessory made by William Optics.

The company is sometimes mistakenly called misnomers such as Williams Optics and William Optic, but their true name is William Optics.
