Sky Watcher Holiday Sale

Sky-Watcher has pulled out the stops for this year's holiday sale and put a huge swath of their product line on sale.

That includes savings on the complete line of Sky-Watcher's ProED refractors. Save $50 on the compact ProED 80mm, $120 on the ProED 100mm, and $130 on the large-aperture but still portable ProED 120mm refractor. These are ideal instruments for visual observers and imagers, and they offer tremendous value for your dollar. Of the Sky-Watcher Pro 120ED refractor, for example, Sky and Telescope wrote that the scope "... offers color-free, crisp, contrasty views that are on par with apo refractors costing thousands of dollars more." These scopes can do it all: low-power wide-field views of stars and nebulae, and higher-power views of planets and the Moon.

Or if you're mostly after crisp high-magnification views of the Moon and planets and tight double stars, a Sky-Watcher Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope might be just the ticket. These compound optical tubes, which come in apertures of 90mm to 180mm, fold a long focal length into a compact package that gives moderate to high-magnification views. They are outstanding instruments for urban astronomers. These Mak-Cass scopes are on sale for up to $125 off the regular price.

And save $150 on another Sky-Watcher compound scope, the renowned 190mm Mak-Newtonian OTA. With fully-corrected f/5.3 optics, this scope gives visual views and images that rival triplet apo refractors at three times the price.

If a good Dobsonian is on your holiday shopping list, you'll be happy to know that nearly all Sky-Watcher Dobs are now on sale. Save $20-$50 on the Traditional Dob (6", 8", and 10"). Or save $50-$80 on amore portable but still powerful Collapsible Dobsonian (8", 10", and 12"). Or save a generous $100-$450 on the Sky-Watcher GoTo Collapsible Dobsonian series with dual motorized axes and SynScan computer control with push-button access to 40,000+ objects. These scopes come in apertures of 8", 10", 12", 14", and 16".

But wait, there's more...

If you're into deep-sky imaging, enjoy saving of up to $90 on the Quattro f/4 imaging Newtonians of 8", 10", and 12" aperture. These fast and relatively lightweight scopes are ideal for wide-field imaging of the deep sky with DSLR and dedicated astronomy cameras. And when your imaging is done for the night, you can swap in an eyepiece and sweep the sky for lovely visual views of the Milky Way.

And Sky-Watcher has their Virtuoso, AllView, and AZ-EQ5 mounts on sale for the holidays...

The computerized Virtuoso works with small telescopes, DSLR and other cameras, and even camcorders to capture stunning panoramic photos or smooth panning video. It also comes with a 90mm Mak-Cass OTA, and it comes at $25 off the regular price.

Or save $35 on the versatile and fully automatic AllView mount that is perfect for panoramic photography, videography and Go-To astronomy and imaging. It helps you capture time-lapse video of outdoor activities, panoramic images of cityscapes, astro images, and more.

And the big AZ-EQ5 is a serious motorized Go-To mount that works as a solid German equatorial for a single OTA or as an altazimuth mount for use with one or two OTAs. It's the perfect mount for visual observers and serious imagers alike. And it's $100 off the regular price.
