Product Details
This specialty eyepiece is very useful for astrophotographers who need to lock onto guide stars, or for observers aligning their telescope or making astronomical measurements. The etched reticle pattern is internally red illuminated to stand out against a dark sky.
Meade's Modified Achromatic MA12mm illuminated reticle eyepiece is a must-have accessory. It is an excellent lower cost alternative to the 9mm illuminated reticle eyepiece. This 1.25" format eyepiece includes a three-element, fully-coated optical system with good eye relief, diopter adjustment and double-crossline reticle. It is great for manual guiding or for drift alignment that's so necessary in astrophotography. The upper (lens) section of this eyepiece rotates on a fine thread for precise diopter adjustment to the user's eye.
This wireless model includes a red LED illuminator, brightness control and two 1.5-volt LR-44 button-type, alkaline batteries. Please note that the illuminator can be black or silver in color depending on Meade's stock.
Please note: This eyepiece only comes with one (lower) end cap. Meade does not include an eyecap for the eye lens on the top.
