Astronomy Content Writer

Agena Astro is seeking an Astronomy Content Writer. The position will be part time or full time depending on the applicant’s availability. This role will report to the Marketing Director and can be remote or in person at our office in Cerritos, CA. Expectations

• Write & create visual content for product pages, category pages, & blog posts

• Utilize SEO best practices to produce high-ranking written & visual content

• Work closely with Marketing Director & other Content Writers to produce content

• Meet deadlines and produce content at a regular pace

• Track & monitor performance of produced content
  
  

Requirements

• Strong background in writing and communications

• Deep understanding of current astronomy products

• Ability to meet regular deadlines

• Familiar with SEO best practices at a minimum

• Basic understanding of creating or editing graphics

• Ability to simplify technical concepts into easily understood terms

• Active in astrophotography or astronomy
  
  

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience writing about astronomy equipment

• Experience writing with SEO in mind

• Experience with SEO tools

• Experience creating graphics in Canva and Adobe Photoshop

• Experience using AI tools to aid with copy editing
   

Astronomy Video Content Creator

Agena Astro is seeking an Astronomy Video Content Creator. The position will be part time (minimum 20 hours/week to start) with the likelihood to become full time if it’s a good fit. This role will report to the Marketing Director. The right candidate is strongly preferred to be in person at our office in Cerritos, CA, but we are open to remote work if the candidate is an excellent fit with prior astronomy video experience.

As the Astronomy Video Content Creator, you will be responsible for being the face of our brand. You will create new video content weekly, including:

• New astronomy product launches

• Evergreen educational videos covering basic astronomy concepts

• Astronomical events like eclipses, meteor showers, & more

The right candidate will be looking for a long-term role. We will provide all video & audio equipment, including a studio at our office in Cerritos, CA if the candidate is located in the LA area. Please note that the applicant is not necessarily expected to edit videos themselves, and video editing can be handled by a Videographer / Video Editor if needed. • Comfortable being in front of a camera & being the face of a brand

• Ability to turn around video content on a tight deadline when required

• Active in astrophotography or astronomy

• Ability to simplify technical concepts into easily understood terms
  
  

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience producing astronomy video content as the host in front of the camera

• Experience with studio/set design

• Willingness to travel a few times per year to dark sky sites for filming on location

• Experience with public outreach

• Experience editing video content in platforms like Davinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere
