Silver Synta/Vixen-style dovetail base for finders and finder brackets with flat base for many Takahashi telescopes # TFURB-S.
This base is 45mm wide (perpendicular to the optical axis) and 30mm long (along the optical axis. It has 3 mounting holes, all of which are unthreaded:
- The center hole has an inside diameter of 6.3mm so it will accept 6mm or 1/4" screws. Your bolt/screw head diameter should not exceed 10.3mm.
- There are two more holes on either side of the center one. The inside diameter is 5mm and your bolt/screw head diameter should not exceed 8.9mm. The center-to-center spacing between these two holes is 28mm (1.1").
- As noted by a couple of reviewers, be careful not to overtighten the Takahashi finder bracket screws as they are long and may mar your focuser drawtube and/or impede its movement.
This finder base will work with most compatible bracket designs from Celestron, Orion, Synta, Vixen, etc. that are no wider than 34mm at the bottom. Please see the photos for detailed dimensions and to determine compatibility with your Takahashi or other telescope or finder/finder bracket before ordering - we are unable to make specific recommendations about compatibility.
The base is made of die-cast aluminum and features two locking thumbscrews. Style of locking thumbscrews may vary from what is shown in the photos above. No mounting screws are included.

When ordering any Vixen style dovetail base (shoe), bar or plate, please note that there are two different size standards and applications in the industry. A Vixen/Synta dovetail base for this Agena product is smaller and generally has a slot opening to accommodate 32-34mm finder bracket dovetails. A Vixen base/clamp/saddle for mounts and telescopes is wider at 42-44mm. The two are not the same and are not interchangeable.
