The round cutouts in the foam will hold the male threads on your filter, and the filter cell itself sits atop the foam as shown in the 3rd product photo. Please note that the 1.25" diameter filter cell is not meant to be inserted into the smaller cutouts.
Note that you can insert single filters with a cell length of up to 9mm (excluding the filter male thread). This case cannot accept thicker dual-polarizing filters.
