These can be used as replacements for many astronomy accessories (diagonals, adapters, focusers, etc.) that have an M4x0.7 thread. If used in diagonals, guiders, etc. as locking thumscrews, please make note of the wider head diameter which might stick out and get in the way of inserted accessories.
Note that M3, M3.5 and M4 threaded-screws are all commonly used on astronomy accessories, so you will need to ensure that you buy the right size for your needs. This screw will not fit inside M3 or M3.5 threaded holes. There is no standardization in the astronomy industry so we cannot tell you what size you might need for your specific accessory.
