Baader’s premium 2” 45-degree Amici prism diagonal comes with 2”-24 tpi female threads to allow direct attachment of the diagonal body to the back of many Meade and Celestron telescopes. Once the diagonal is threaded to the scope, insert the included 1.25”-2” adapter and a 1.25” eyepiece to get sharp, crisp, correct image views of terrestrial sights with your telescope.
Compared to other erect-image diagonals, Baader’s 2” Amici prism diagonal uses a larger prism with a full 26mm clear aperture. This means you can use lower-magnification eyepieces without the effects of vignetting (darkening) around the edge of the field of view.
Note: While you can use 2” eyepieces with this diagonal, you may experience some vignetting because the field stops of these eyepieces are larger than the clear aperture of the diagonal.
The Amici prism in this diagonal is fully multicoated to reduce stray reflections and maximize image brightness and contrast.
This Baader 2” 45-degree prism diagonal can also be used for basic astronomical viewing, but the Baader Astro-Grade Amici prism diagonal (Agena part# ODIA-BP-AMICI-DX2) is a better choice for those who seek the best possible correct-image view of celestial objects, especially at high magnification.
Eyepieces in this diagonal, and with its 1.25”-2” adapter, are held in place with a screw clamp with a single set screw.
