- Lightweight 4 kg (8.8 lb) strain wave mount with up to 20 kg (44 lb) payload capacity
- Supports Equatorial, Alt-Az Side, and patented Alt-Az Top mounting modes for imaging and visual observing
- Tool-free, patented altitude and azimuth adjustment system enables fast, precise polar alignment
- Integrated USB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and DEC cable routing provide clean, reliable equipment management
EmCan EM31 Pro Strain Wave Mount Head
Traditional equatorial mounts are often heavy, difficult to set up, challenging to polar align, and require cumbersome cable management. Designed from the ground up to solve these common frustrations, the EM31 Harmonic Equatorial Mount delivers a simpler, more portable, and more user-friendly experience for amateur astronomers.
Since its introduction in October 2021, the EM31 has earned widespread praise for its innovative design, multiple patented technologies, and exceptional performance. Combining reliability, premium craftsmanship, and advanced engineering, the EM31 provides a high-quality observing and imaging experience while setting a new benchmark for harmonic equatorial mounts.

Heavy Load Capacity
- Without the counterweight (the telescope's center of gravity is 20 cm from RA axis).
- RA axis adopts 17 standard harmonic reducer.
- The torque force arm from RA axis to dovetail end surface is only 80mm.
The existing double groove dovetail, with the LOSMANDY style in the upper part, will raise the center of gravity of the telescope. The bottom structure of the EM31 PRO dovetail is LOSMANDY groove, Vixen Narrove groove is realized by installing adapter strips, which ensures that both wide and narrow groove have lower center of gravity.

Lightweight Design
Weighing just 4.0 kgs (8.8 lbs) the EM31 Pro mount adopts an innovative integrated shell design, assisted by CAE analysis to ensure structural strength while greatly reducing body weight. Obtain patent authorization.

Easy Operation - Efficient and delicate operation
EM31 Pro full latitude adjustment mechanism (invention patent) can easily achieve 0-90 degrees adjustment without assistance of any additional tools.
The adjustment screw rod uses CNC fine pitch screw, which can reduce the adjustment backlash and make the operation process more delicate and precise.

Three Working Modes: GEM, Alt/Az, & Top
The EmCan EM31 Pro Strain Wave Mount is designed to adapt to a wide range of observing and imaging applications with three distinct operating modes: German Equatorial Mount (GEM), Alt-Azimuth (Alt/Az) Side-Mounted, and the patented Alt/Az Top-Mounted Mode. This unique versatility allows astronomers to seamlessly switch between astrophotography and visual observing without changing mounts.

Innovative Altitude Adjustment Design (Invention Patent)
The altitude locking mechanism is achieved by two pairs of flat gears meshing with each other. This structure can quickly adjust the altitude angle from 0° to 90° without any tools. Compared to the friction locking structure used by other mounts, this structure can provide more reliable rigid support without worrying about loosening after locking.

Bubble Level Zero Indication Design
The bubble level indicates a more accurate zero position, and it is easier to obtain an accurate position.
In the Alt-Azimuth Top mode, the bubble level can conveniently provide equipment level indication.
- Zero position indication of German equatorial instrument
- Alt-Azimuth mode zero position indication
- Horizontal indication for Alt-Azimuth top mode
