Do you have a 2" GSO refractor diagonal (standard or dielectric) or clones that you want to use with your SCT or large Mak telescope but cannot? Here is the solution you need! In response to requests from several customers, we now offer just the SCT barrel from 2" GSO SCT diagonals.
You can simply unscrew the chrome barrel on the telescope end of your GSO refractor diagonal. Then insert this barrel in its place and you can now use your refractor diagonal with all telescopes having a standard SCT thread.
This adapter has a standard SCT female thread (2"-24 TPI) on one side to connect to the male SCT thread on the rear of your telescope. The other side has a standard SCT male thread (also 2"-24 TPI) to connect to the GSO diagonal body. Note that the male thread on this adapter is not an M48x0.75 thread.
This adapter will work with the following diagonals that have female SCT threads on the diagonal body:
- All 2" GSO diagonals
- Some 2" diagonals made by GSO for Celestron, Antares, Burgess, SmartAstronomy, TS (Germany), OPT, and others
- Some 2" Baader diagonals with SCT female threads
This adapter will not work with the following diagonals:
- All William Optics diagonals
- Most other Meade, Celestron, Antares or other diagonals
There is no standardization in the astronomy industry for the threads used on diagonal bodies. Hence, do not assume that this adapter will work with your diagonal. Please check the thread on your diagonal body before ordering this item - we do not have compatibility information for all the diagonals out there.
