This is version 2 of the baffle extensions. Version 2 is printed in a carbon fiber PETG filament that is both stronger and less brittle than version 1, and has a more matte finish. The printed color is a charcoal gray that is a little darker than the baffle tube.
GSO Telescope Baffle Extensions
Please note that this is a 3d printed plastic part.
It has been reported that the GSO Ritchey–Chrétien telescopes (and associated brands - Orion, iOptron, Astro-Tech, Apertura, TPO and others) can suffer from aberrant light directly reaching the camera sensor in certain configurations when used with some cameras. This can cause reflections and the inability to take sufficient flat frames. These baffle extensions eliminate this problem should you experience it in your setup.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- These baffle extensions are intended for GSO RC scopes made prior late 2019 only. These telescopes have a baffle that has a two-sep design on the side facing the secondary mirror.
- For RC truss telescopes made between late 2019 and mid-2022, GSO added a tapered screw-on extension to the original baffle. If you have one of these scopes, you do NOT need this baffle extension.
- For RC truss telescopes made after mid-2022, GSO redesigned the baffle completely and these have a single, straight baffle. If you have one of these scopes, you do NOT need this baffle extension.

10" RC extension - Some users (but not all) have reported that the 10" extension will not fit through the front of the closed tube version of the telescope. In such cases the primary mirror cell will need to be removed to access the baffle. Alternately, the secondary mirror can be removed from the front, giving access to the baffle. This only applies to the 10" close tube GSO RC and not the truss-tube version.
