iOptron 7nm Sulfur II Narrowband Filter - 1.25"
Introducing the improved iOptron narrowband SII (Sulfur II) filter is designed for nebula observation or CCD imaging! This filter isolates the light at the wavelength of 672 nm, allowing you to reveal deep sky objects like supernova remnants, and planetary nebulae. Sulfur filters are also one of three filters you need to create stunning Hubble Palette (SHO) images. Isolating only SII emissions reduces artificial light, including mercury vapor that causes light pollution. This minimizes unwanted skyglow, and helps manage light pollution interference!
Narrowband filters don’t eliminate light pollution or make objects brighter. Instead, they enhance contrast by darkening the background sky relative to the nebula, making the nebula stand out more clearly.
Specifications:
- 1.25" round mounted filter for filter wheels similar to iOptron iEFW 5-Position Electronic Filter Wheel
- Can be used for 1.25" eyepieces (M28.5x0.6)
- Multi-layer, anti-reflection coating for high transmission
- High surface quality of 60/40
- Surface flatness <λ/4
- Parallelism 30"
Addtional Info:
