Rumak-type Maksutov-Cassegrain Optics
This high-performance catadioptric design features a separately mounted secondary mirror, rather than one integrated into the corrector plate, enabling sharper image resolution, a flatter field of view, and reduced optical aberrations when compared to traditional Maksutov designs. Each mirror is aluminized and quartz coated, unlocking higher light reflectivity, improved contrast, and long-term durability by protecting the reflective surfaces from oxidation and wear. These multicoated and fully-baffled optics provide similar results as a 5-inch apochromatic refractor, at a fraction of the cost!

The MAK150 is packed full of essential accessories from a robust vixen-style dovetail mounting bar, 8x50mm straight-through finderscope for easy target locating, T–ring camera adapter, and a 2-inch to 1.25-inch compression ring for accessories. Topping off these features iOptron includes an attachable dew shield, a rarity for other Mak style telescopes. The shield prevents moisture from forming on the front optics, preserving image contrast by blocking stray light, and extending uninterrupted observing time in cool or humid conditions!
