The Long Perng 1.25" 45-degree correct-image prism diagonal features a multi-coated image-erecting Amici roof prism that allows you to look into a telescope at a comfortable angle for terrestrial viewing. It produces a high-contrast image that is oriented properly, which means that the image is upright and correct from left to right (i.e., a correct, non-inverted, non-reversed image). Correct image orientation makes it easier to read signs and track the motion of objects in the field of view during terrestrial observations.
This is a great diagonal for daytime terrestrial use with refractors and Cassegrain telescopes with 1.25” focusers. The diagonal excels at terrestrial observing, but it can also be used for some astronomy applications to match the orientation of the star field with "correct" star maps and charts. It is not recommended for use at high magnifications or on bright targets during night-time astronomical use. Note also that it cannot be used with Newtonian/Dobsonian reflectors.
This 45-degree erect-image diagonal features a 35% larger prism compared to many other correct-image models so it provides a wide and pleasing field of view. The diagonal also includes a non-marring compression ring to securely hold a 1.25” eyepiece.
The prism housing and end barrels are made of black anodized aluminum. The diagonal includes two end caps, and the 1.25" nosepiece is threaded to accept standard 1.25" astronomy filters with M28.5x6 threads.
