The Lunt Solar Systems LS40FHa double-stack filter transforms the already impressive LS40THa into an ultra-high-contrast solar observing system. By adding a second precision 0.35Å front-mounted tilt-tuned etalon in front of the telescope’s existing etalon, the combined system reaches an incredibly narrow <0.25Å bandpass—delivering some of the highest contrast solar views in the entire Lunt lineup.
The difference is immediately visible at the eyepiece. Filaments become darker and more structured, prominences reveal delicate internal detail, and the chromospheric surface transforms into a richly textured landscape packed with fine solar activity and contrast.
Installation is fast and effortless with no tools or factory service required. The LS40FHa threads directly onto compatible LS40THa telescopes and maintains the lightweight, portable nature of the system.
