By day, the Lunt Solar Systems LS100MT operates as an H-alpha solar powerhouse, utilizing a premium 100 mm FPL51/FPL53 ED Triplet optical system with ion-assisted broadband AR coatings. This reference-grade glass works in tandem with an internal pressure-tuned etalon to deliver a verified, uniform <0.4Å bandpass across the entire aperture, resolving finer prominence structures, sharper filament definition, and pristine chromospheric detail. Equipped with a generous B1800 blocking filter to fully illuminate full-frame imaging sensors without vignetting, the system features a ZWO EAF-compatible dual-speed focuser built for serious imaging and visual observation. The modular design allows you to add a DS100 double-stack module at any time ( sold seperately ) to drop the combined bandpass to an industry-leading <0.28Å.
When the sun sets, the LS100MT easily transitions into one of the finest 100 mm f/7 nighttime triplet refractors available by simply removing the H-alpha module and installing the night-sky backing plate. Because it is built around reference-grade FPL53 ED triplet optics rather than a standard doublet, it eliminates chromatic aberration to deliver exceptional color correction, contrast, and resolution across the night sky.
