About the Nakoh 60GT & Reviews: The Nakoh 60GT is based on the same optical and mechanical design as the highly regarded Sharpstar 61EDPH III, with upgrades including premium SD glass and enhanced mechanical quality. Because the two scopes share the same core design, the reviews below include customer feedback from the 61EDPH III.
- SD (Super low dispersion) and ED (Extra low dispersion) glass deliver exceptional chromatic correction and sharp, color-accurate stars across the field
- Large 44 mm corrected image circle for flat performance edge-to-edge, ideal for full-frame astrophotography
- Integrated 360° camera rotator with precision engraved scale and secure locking system for fast, accurate, and repeatable framing
- 60 mm aperture at f/6 in a lightweight, portable tube with included rings and 230 mm dovetail for easy mounting
- Includes free 1.0x Flattener and 0.65x Reducer for more imaging flexibility
- 0.65x Reducer brings the system down to 234mm at f/3.9 for ultra-fast wide field imaging

Meet the NAKOH 60GT: Your Portable Window to the Stars!
Why the 60GT is a Standout
Ready Where Inspiration Calls
Despite its high-end optics, the Nakoh 60GT keeps things light and compact. Featuring a 60 mm aperture with a 360 mm focal length and weighing in at just 2.94 kg; the streamlined construction makes it easy to take on your trips to remote dark-sky sites without sacrificing optical performance. Perfect for astrophotographers and observers who value mobility and convenience!
EAF Compatible
A dual-speed metal rack-and-pinion focuser with a 2.5-inch interface, 32 mm of travel, and precision engraved scales ensures smooth, accurate adjustments. It’s compatible with most electronic focusers, features a finder base with an M4 threaded hole for accessories, and includes a protective cap on the fine adjustment knob to prevent damage.
Rigorously Tested Performance
Equipped with a triplet objective featuring one piece of Japan-made SD glass and one piece of ED glass, the 60GT optics deliver outstanding control of chromatic and spherical aberrations. The result is crisp, pinpoint stars and beautifully corrected views across its generous φ44 mm flat field — ideal for wide-field astrophotography.

Veil Nebula - NGC6960 by Zhang Yuhang
Pleiades Star Cluster - M45 by Qiang
Advanced SD & ED Glass Design
By fully utilizing the anomalous dispersion properties of premium SD and ED glass, the 60GT significantly minimizes refractive index variation across different wavelengths. This suppresses chromatic aberration—especially purple and green fringing—resulting in sharper, cleaner star images with excellent color accuracy!
Engineered for Astrophotography
The Nakoh 60GT is built with imaging-ready features that make setup and framing effortless. It includes full-metal tube rings with enlarged thumb screws and a 230 mm (9.1 in) Vixen-style dovetail plate for solid mounting on a wide range of mounts. A standout feature is the built-in 360° camera rotator with engraved scales and a serrated locking screw, letting you quickly adjust your camera for perfect framing and secure tightening of the rotation angle. Complementing these are a smooth dual-speed focuser, carrying handle, and various accessory mounting points. Together these additions create a telescope that’s as functional as it is capable.
60GT Longitudinal Chromatic Aberration Curve
The longitudinal chromatic aberration graph uses wavelength (nm) as the horizontal axis and focal shift (μm) as the vertical axis to display differences in the focusing positions of various wavelengths along the optical axis. The Nakoh 60GT exhibits low shift, a gentle curve across the entire wavelength range, and well-aligned curves at key wavelengths, reflecting its excellent chromatic aberration control.
Exceptionally Sharp Focus
The optical performance of the Nakoh 60GT has been rigorously tested using the internationally recognized ZYGO interferometer, with quantitative data demonstrating top-tier excellence. The test report reveals a Strehl ratio as high as 0.976, an RMS value as low as 0.026λ (surpassing λ/38), and a PV value of 0.168λ. These figures not only far exceed the demanding "diffraction-limited" standard (Strehl ratio > 0.8) but also indicate that its imaging quality is virtually unconstrained by mirror precision, allowing celestial details to be concentrated into an exceptionally sharp focus.
Ronchi test
The Ronchi test quantitatively evaluates the surface figure accuracy and optical axis collimation of the objective lens by analyzing shadow patterns. The 60GT demonstrates exceptional performance: both in and out of focus, the shadow variations transition evenly and smoothly, forming straight, symmetrical lines. This conforms to the criteria of an excellent optical system, indicating that the 60GT possesses precise parabolic surface figures and optimal optical alignment.
