About Optolong's L-eXtreme Filter
Optolong's L-eXtreme filter is suited for mirrorless digital cameras as well as monochrome CMOS cameras. It is also suited for fast optical systems. The convenience and cost effectiveness of this filter allows amateurs to image rich emission nebulas, even in bright, light polluted skies. It isolates the H-Alpha and Oxygen III nebula emission lines so that the contrast and signal-to-noise ratio between nebulae and sky are maximized. For people who live in very light polluted areas or when the moon is out, the L-eXtreme is a good choice. The L-eXtreme filter is dual band that passes Ha and OIII emission lines. The advantage of the L-eXtreme filter is that there is no transmission between the H-beta and OIII lines. This maximizes the nebula signal and makes the sky background darker while imaging.
L-eXtreme Compatible Cameras and Lens
- Applicable camera body: Z5 / Z6 / Z6II / Z7 / Z7II / Z8 / Z9 / ZF
- Applicable lenses: All Z series lenses can be used. All F-mount lenses can be used (adapter is required)
- Note: Because of the mirrorless optical path and diaphragm design, as well as the incident angle of light, there may be slight vignetting. The L-Pro is recommended for 50mm or above. If using a wide-angle lens, the edges of the frame will need to be cropped or corrected in post processing due to vignetting.
