DSLR Buddy v2 is a small device designed for astrophotographers that can provide constant power supply to DSLR cameras. It also can power up a dew heater by varying the duty cycle of the DC voltage (PWM control). It is the definitely the perfect buddy for your DSLR in the field.
With this battery replacement and the built-in dew heater output nothing can stop your camera working for the whole night! A unique product for time-lapses and astro-photography (deep sky, star trails, etc).
1. Constant Power Supply to DSLR Camera
Plug the dummy battery (sold separately) to your DSLR and forget about replacing the battery every time its power is drained. Connect a 5 - 13.8V power supply (not included) to the DSLR buddy and power on your camera with stable and constant voltage for the whole night long!
Either use the DC socket or the USB Micro socket. Use your Power Bank to step up voltage for your camera.
2. Automatic Voltage Selection
Device automatically and uninterruptibly selects the highest voltage input (DC IN vs USB Micro socket).
3. Built in Single Channel RCA Dew Heater Output
DSLR Buddy v2 has a built-in Pulse Width Modulation duty cycle control output for Dew Heater or Flatbox. It is able to provide more than 5A of current to your heaters. Get rid of the moisture on your lens which can ruin your night! Dew Heater Output works only with DC 2.1mm socket 5-12V Input
4. Wide range of Battery Couplers Available Separately
Camera battery couplers are NOT included and are sold separately. Bundle the DSLRBuddy with a battery coupler for your Sony, Fuji and Canon DSLR / Mirrorless model. Check the accessory list above for available battery couplers.
The Battery Coupler acts as a dummy battery. By replacing your original battery and connecting this Coupler to your AC mains adapter it will provide a more stable and consistent power source to let your camera operate all day and night long.
Please note: The battery couplers are Pegasus Astro's products with a 2.1mm socket to fit the DSLR Buddy. These are not OEM couplers (those may have the same item number but a different socket size that will not fit the DSLR Buddy).
5. Simple Rotary Knob Control
You can manually dim the Dew Heater output by using the knob at the side of the DSLR Buddy. A red light (PWM duty cycle indicator) change its brightness when you adjust the dew knob.
6. Reverse Polarity Protection
The device is designed to be protected from reverse voltage polarity. No worries if you accidentally reverse connect your power source.
