The Losmandy style dovetail plate 645mm PLUS is designed to let you install your telescopes on mounts with Losmandy style dovetail clamp. Since this dovetail plate is 645mm long and thickness is 13mm like all PrimaLuceLab's Losmandy style dovetail plates, they suggest to use it with optical tubes up to 40kg in weight. This 645mm PLUS Losmandy style dovetail plate can be installed in parallel (this requires the PLLSAG925 curved blocks) to the Celestron EdgeHD 8" telescope with the original Aluminum Dew Shield: this way you can connect ALTO-2 cover motor (by adding the PLLMORVLP clamp) and you can use GIOTTO255 as a motorized telescope cap and record flats too. Like all the elements of the PLUS system, this plate is made with high precision mechanics (built with CNC machines from aluminum block) and specially designed to enable you to easily install other mechanical components such as support rings, guide rings or dovetail clamps. The Losmandy style dovetail plate 645mm PLUS is part of PrimaLuceLab's PLUS system (Prima Luce Universal System) that includes a large variety of other plates, support rings, guide rings and dovetail clamps to offer you the maximum freedom to build your mechanical support system, depending on the application you want to accomplish. Indeed, all the PLUS elements have threaded holes, holes and slots suitable for connecting elements, always with maximum rigidity and comfort.
For this application, PrimaLuceLab designed many elements, including the Losmandy style dovetail plate 645mm PLUS. Each component of the PLUS system is made of aluminum blocks that are high precision CNC machined. The aluminum is then sandblasted to achieve a very smooth surface finish and is anodized (hard anodizing) to increase the hardness of the material and protect it from oxidation.
Thanks to the particular design, the Losmandy style dovetail plate 645mm PLUS can be:
- positioned below the support rings to install the telescope on mounts with Losmandy plate
- installed above the support rings to increase the mechanical rigidity of the entire telescope (and allow you to attach other accessories such as guide rings to precisely adjust the position of the guide telescope).
- in parallel (this requires the PLLSAG925 curved blocks) to the Celestron EdgeHD 8" telescope with the original Aluminum Dew Shield: this way you can connect ALTO-2 cover motor (by adding the PLLMORVLP clamp) and you can use GIOTTO255 as a motorized telescope cap and record flats too
If you have other brands mechanical accessories, you can still use all the elements of the PLUS system. Indeed PrimaLuceLab have provided a series of central slots that allow, for example, to fix on this plate support or guide rings through a screw.
