FC-100DF: Thoughtfully Designed for both Photographic and Visual Use
The Takahashi FC-100DF Fluorite refractor OTA delivers stunning performance for both visual observers and astrophotographers alike. Built around a 100 mm apochromatic fluorite Steinheil doublet with a fast f/7.4 focal ratio, it offers exceptional sharpness, contrast, and color correction. The eco-glass front element maximizes light transmission, while the fully coated fluorite rear element keeps chromatic aberration tightly controlled for crisp, high-contrast star images.
Optically identical to the FC-100DC model, the FC-100DF steps things up with a larger 2.7-inch focuser and a shorter tube length that provides additional back focus for digital imaging applications. This added back focus allows compatibility with the FC-35RD reducer, transforming the DF into a fast f/4.8 wide-field imaging system. While it remains a superb visual performer for lunar, planetary, and deep-sky observing, the FC-100DF is especially well-suited for astrophotographers who want greater system flexibility. Please note: mount, tripod, tube holder, and finder are sold separately.
