The Telrad Reflex finder has been extremely popular with astronomers for decades. However, the Telrad Sight has also found wide adoption in the stage lighting industry. It works very well as a spot light sighting device for professional concert and stage spot light operators or for other terrestrial applications during daylight hours.
This special version replaces the red LED light found on the astronomy version with a much brighter white LED light that makes it very easy to see the circular reticle pattern, even in broad daylight. The reticle pattern consists of three concentric rings. The large ring is 4 degrees across, the center ring is 2 degrees in diameter and the small ring is 0.5 degrees across. This version runs on four AA batteries (not included).
The Telrad weighs a mere 11 ounces due to its lightweight yet robust ABS plastic construction, and mounts on any curved surface without drilling holes using the double-sided tape on the bottom of the Telrad base. For concert or stage applications, spotlight operators often mount the Telrad using Gaffer tape instead.
The Telrad is 8.15" long and 2.24" wide (at the base) so please make sure that you have sufficient clear area on your spotlight to mount this. The Telrad unlocks from its base for separate storage. Extra bases are also sold separately so you can leave bases mounted on different spot lights and move the Telrad unit between them as required.
