ToupTek GS Series Guide Scopes: Precision Guiding, Superior Image Quality!
The ToupTek GS Series 300mm f/6 Guide Scope combines a 50mm aperture and 300mm focal length with a three-element PAPO ED optical design and integrated field flattening for sharp, pinpoint stars. Its compact CNC-machined aluminum body and smooth Rack-and-Pinion focuser (AR) provide precise focusing for guiding, imaging, and visual observing. A modular M48 extension system provides flexible spacing for different optical setups and allows the scope to work with most standard diagonals and eyepieces, making it a versatile option beyond traditional autoguiding.
How to Choose the Right Guide Scope
A practical starting point is to choose a guide scope with a focal length approximately one-third to one-half of your main telescope's focal length. For example, a 750mm main telescope can be paired with a guide scope around 250mm. The GS Series offers 150mm, 200mm, 250mm, 300mm, and 350mm focal-length options for different astrophotography setups.

Rack-and-Pinion Focuser
Rack-and-Pinion (AR version): AR is intended for users who want both guiding and imaging flexibility. Its geared focusing structure provides greater load capacity and is better suited to setups that may use imaging cameras or additional accessories.

Camera Sensor Compatibility
Designed around a 1-inch flat, well-corrected image circle, the GS Series supports sensors up to the IMX533 size. Versatile in function, it can be used for star-hopping, guiding, visual observing, and even DSO imaging—making it an ideal tool for astrophotography, casual stargazing, and entry-level night-sky photography. Focuser drawtube offers 1.25-inch inner diameter with an external M42x0.75 thread. (Cameras sold separately)
More Than Just a Guide Scope
The GS-300 is designed for both guiding and visual observing, making it a versatile addition to your setup. For visual use, switching to a 50 mm (5 cm) M48 extender to provide the spacing needed for a compatible diagonal to reach focus. Pair it with most standard diagonals and eyepieces to easily transition from astrophotography to visual observing.
- Visual Observing Ready: Use the included 50 mm (5 cm) M48 extender to reach focus with most standard diagonals and eyepieces.
Mounting Options
The tube rings feature multiple M5 threaded holes for attaching additional accessories, while the dovetail plate includes multiple M6 threads and a 3/8"-16 mounting point for easy attachment to compatible tripods and equatorial mounts.
