Ultimate Cable Master for RASA and HyperStar 36 - Cross Spike Version
The Wanderer Ultimate Cable Master (Cross Spike Version, WUCM36-CS) is a patented, revolutionary cable-management bracket for the Celestron RASA 36, or Celestron C14 with Starizona HyperStar 14", that eliminates a major drawback of fast prime-focus imaging: cable-induced diffraction. By replacing all traditional wires crossing the light path with a single ultra-thin (1.6 mm) printed circuit board paired with a front anti-reflection baffle, it transforms messy, chaotic star artifacts into a clean, symmetrical cross-shaped diffraction pattern that rivals premium Newtonian reflectors. For perfectionists, the bracket features fine-tuning adjustments (fore/aft and left/right) for precise spike alignment.
Because USB data and 12V power travel directly through the internal traces of the PCB, no cables ever enter the light path. This creates a clean, localized hub right at the corrector plate, providing two USB 2.0 ports for your camera and accessories alongside a 12V output rated for up to 3A to safely power your front-mounted gear.
Cross Spike Version or Spike Free Version?
From an optical standpoint, the Cross Spike Version introduces minimal obstruction and can deliver slightly sharper images. If you do not like diffraction spikes, or if you need to rotate the CAA very often, the Spike-Free Version is the better choice. However, unlike a refractor, residual diffraction artifacts may still be visible in bright stars due to factors such as stress in the Schmidt corrector plate, although the results are significantly cleaner than with traditional solutions.
