The William Optics Flat68III and Flat7A flatteners both terminate in a male M48x0.75 thread. However, this adapter allows you to swap out the M48-threaded part to change the terminating threads to M54x0.75 male. You can then use with cameras and accessories with this larger M54 thread without affecting the back focus requirements.
On the scope/flattener side, this adapter has M80x0.75 female threads so you cannot use it for any other William Optics flattener/reducer other than Flat7A and Flat68III.
To install this, simply unscrew the original end adapter that terminates in the M48 male thread on the flattener and replace it with this longer adapter.
