The 12V-5V DC Converter takes a 12V input from your battery or power tank and outputs the 5V required by the ASIAIR through a micro-USB connection. While the ASIAIR normally consumes about 500mA of current, it can sometimes draw a peak current of 2.5A. So make sure to use the USB power cable that comes with the ASIAIR to run the power from this converter into the ASIAIR itself. If you use a thinner USB cable such as used with a smart phone, the cable may get too hot or provide insufficient power.
