The ZWO ASIAIR PRO is the second generation of the ZWO ASIAIR device first released in July 2018. The ASIAIR PRO builds on the success of the original ASIAIR to include live stacking, autorun, output power ports, more memory, and improved design. With the ASIAIR PRO, you no longer need to carry along a laptop computer for astro-imaging sessions. Instead, the ASIAIR PRO’s WiFi connectivity enables app-based camera control, power management, and go-to mount control with nearly any Android or iOS devices.
Outstanding Features
1. Excellent Build Quality and Compact Size
The ASIAIR PRO features an anodized all-aluminum CNC-machined housing that protects the device and has a comfortable easy-to-handle feel. The size of the whole device is just 92mm x 67mm x 35 mm so it fits easily in the palm of your hand, and it weighs just 243g (0.54 lbs).
2. Attractive and Functional Design and Interface
The layouts of the port on the ASIAIR are nicely organized and easy to access. On one side are an Ethernet port and four USB ports (2xUSB2.0 and 2xUSB3.0). On another side you find four 12V@3A output ports. Another side as the 12V@6A power in connector, a status light, and the on-off switch. The ASIAIR PRO also includes several configurations for mounting to a telescope with a finder-type dovetail or to a tripod with ¼-20 or M4 threads. The attractive aluminum body is red-anodized and laser marked with stylized star maps of the constellations Ursa Minor and Ursa Major.
3. Integrated Power Management and 84GB of Storage Space
ASIAIR PRO is equipped with a lightweight power management module, and each of the four 12V@3A output ports (with 5.5.mm x 2.1 mm female connectors) can be controlled through the ASIAIR app. There’s also a DSLR shutter release port and two USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports each for connecting cameras, autoguiders, and mounts. The device also comes with 84 GB of free external storage, more than enough to capture lots of images.
NOTE: The output power ports of the ZWO ASIAIR PRO are rated at 12V@3A, sufficient to power most ZWO camera TEC cooling systems, dew straps, and other accessories. However, ZWO does not recommend powering mid-sized and larger mounts, many of which draw peak currents of more than 3A. Supplying power separately to your mount is recommended. Also, cameras like ASI6200/ASI2600/ASI533 must use an external, separate 12V power supply source. The Pro cannot power the cooling function on these.
Note also that the ASIAIR PRO needs at least a 12V@2A power source for basic operation, and if you plan on using the built in 12VDC output ports for other equipment like dew heaters, then you need a 12V@5A input power source. This is NOT included with the ASIAIR-Pro and is available separately.
4. LED Status Indicator and Ready Tone
The ASIAIR PRO also separate status indicators for power, WiFi, the external data drive. It also features a tone that lets you know when the device is ready to use.
App Functions
The ASIAIR app to control the ASIAIR PRO supports both iOS and Android smartphones and tablets.

The app is extremely simple and intuitive to use and enables the following capabilities:
- Accurate focus. After the rough focus is completed, select one star, then accurate focusing can be done through curves such as brightness and HFD. It can also be completed with ZWO EAF by remote control.
- Polar Alignment. Based on a powerful plate-solving function, you can finish arc-second polar axis alignment in only a few minutes.
- Accurate GoTo. Precise GoTo can be achieved after selecting the target from the ASIAIR PRO’s extensive database of celestial objects.
- Stable guiding. Independent and stable autoguiding can be achieved without a PC.
- Preview mode. You can see the image of the target directly under ‘Preview’, ideal for getting an object in the right position in the field of view.
- Autorun. Set the target and configure the schedule for capturing light frames and the ASIAIR will execute the imaging sequence automatically.
- Live Stacking. You can see the stacked image (lower noise with calibration frames) of the target directly while capturing, and even adjust the histogram and capture a snapshot of the image. Great for EAA!
Supported Mounts
To ensure mount compatability with the ASIAIR PRO, ZWO has been working closely with major manufacturers including iOptron, Vixen, Rainbow, Avalon, Explore Scientific, Sky-Watcher and other models, including some new models.
