Baader 2" BBHS Prism – Adjustable Star Diagonal
The Baader 2" ClickLock 90° Star Diagonal combines a precision Carl Zeiss-spec prism with Baader’s advanced BBHS® silver coating and a fully adjustable, CNC-machined housing. Its modular design, secure ClickLock clamp, and carefully aligned optical system deliver brilliant color, high contrast, and dependable performance for demanding visual observation. The BBHS® prisms can be screwed directly onto the focuser or accessories to provide an especially tilt-proof and short optical path connection.

What Makes the Baader 2" BBHS Prism Diagonal Different
Prism Adjustment
The prism rests on a three-point adjustable cradle, allowing the optical and mechanical axes to be collimated. Each diagonal is factory aligned for optimal performance and should not require adjustment during normal use. Changing the factory collimation voids the warranty covering its original alignment.
Included Adapter
The included 2" nosepiece adapter features an integrated filter holder, allowing a 2" filter to remain installed on the eyepiece side. This keeps the telescope-side 2" filter thread available for additional accessories or connections. 2" filters not included with this diagonal.
Advanced Coatings
In addition to the sealed BBHS® rear-surface coating, the prism features Baader’s Phantom Coating® Group anti-reflection treatment to minimize unwanted reflections and maximize light transmission.
Secure 2" ClickLock Clamp
The precisely machined 2" ClickLock eyepiece clamp secures even heavy accessories with a simple 20° twist. Its three-sided clamping action centers accessories along the optical axis while preventing tilt, even when slight barrel-diameter tolerances are present.
Advanced Coatings
The sealed Broad Band Hard Silver coating delivers 98–99% reflectivity across an exceptionally wide spectral range of just over 390 to 2000 nm. Its durable protective layer stabilizes the silver coating and helps prevent corrosion.
