Baader 2" BBHS Dielectric Mirror – Adjustable Star Diagonal
The Baader 2" ClickLock BBHS® Mirror Star Diagonal combines premium optical performance with a rugged, modular design. Its protected silver mirror, precision aluminum housing, secure ClickLock clamp, and adaptable threaded connections deliver brilliant, high-contrast views with heavy eyepieces, binoviewers, and other accessories. The BBHS® mirror diagonal can be screwed directly onto the focuser or accessories to provide an especially tilt-proof and short optical path connection.

What Makes the Baader 2" BBHS Mirror Diagonal Different
Mirror Adjustment
The mirror rests on a three-point adjustable cradle, allowing the optical and mechanical axes to be collimated. Each diagonal is factory aligned for optimal performance and should not require adjustment during normal use. Changing the factory collimation voids the warranty covering its original alignment.
Included Adapter
The included 2" nosepiece adapter features an integrated filter holder, allowing a 2" filter to remain installed on the eyepiece side. This keeps the telescope-side 2" filter thread available for additional accessories or connections. 2" filters not included with this diagonal.
Advanced Coatings
The BBHS® coating is applied to a temperature-resistant Sitall glass-ceramic mirror. Combined with the CNC-machined aluminum housing, this allows rapid temperature adjustment and excellent image stability.
Broad-Spectrum BBHS® Silver Mirror
The Broad Band Hard Silver first-surface coating provides 98–99% reflectivity across an exceptionally wide spectral range from just above 390 to 2000 nm. Unlike conventional silver coatings, it is sealed against corrosion with a durable protective layer for dependable long-term performance.
Ideal for Faster Optical Systems
BBHS® mirror diagonals are particularly well suited to faster telescopes. As a general guideline, prism diagonals are recommended for optical systems around f/6 to f/7 or slower, while BBHS® mirror diagonals are preferable for faster optics. Please note the telescopes, cameras, and other accessories images are not included with this diagonal purchase.
Secure 2" ClickLock Clamp
The precisely machined 2" ClickLock eyepiece clamp securely holds even heavy accessories with a simple 20° twist. Its three-sided clamping action automatically centers accessories along the optical axis while preventing tilt, even when slight barrel-diameter tolerances are present.
Modular, Short Optical Connection
The modular design supports short, threaded connections directly to compatible telescopes, Baader focusers, and a wide range of adapters. These rigid, torsion-resistant connections are especially useful with long or heavy accessories such as binoviewers.
The included 2" nosepiece adapter allows a 2" filter to remain permanently installed on the eyepiece side, including for use as dust protection. This keeps the telescope-side 2" filter thread available for additional accessories or connections. 2" filters not included with this diagonal.
