A Smarter Way to Capture the Sky!
Take your Imaging Anywhere

Take the Origin Mark II anywhere with no external WiFi or tools required. The optical tube, mount, and tripod assemble in minutes, with each component weighing under 16 lbs for easy transport. Add the optional Padded Carrying Bag for Origin for even simpler travel, and you’re ready to explore from almost anywhere.
New Mosaic Mode!

Launched in early Sept. 2026, Mosaic Mode expands beyond the camera’s standard field of view to capture more of the sky. Simply choose your desired area in the Celestron Origin app, and Origin automatically captures, stitches, and combines each section into one seamless mosaic.
The RASA Legacy

At the heart of the Origin Mark II is a 6” RASA optical system, delivering ultra-fast f/2.2 performance with a wide, sharp field of view. Its light-gathering power produces bright, detailed images in short exposures, bringing observatory-grade imaging to a portable, easy-to-use system.

Celestron Origin 678C Camera
Now equipped with the Origin 678C Camera, this next-generation upgrade features Sony’s latest Starvis 2 CMOS technology. With 8.4 megapixels, ultra-fine 2.0 μm² pixels, and a modern 16:9 aspect ratio, this advanced sensor delivers sharper resolution, increased sensitivity, and a wider field of view. Whether you're new to astrophotography or an experienced imager, you’ll enjoy clean, crisp results! Simply stack and share, or admire on your device in near-real time.

StarSense Technology & the Origin App
Just place Origin outside, power it on, and connect to the app! StarSense technology handles focusing, sky scanning, and alignment in under two minutes. The SkySafari™ powered app makes exploring the night sky simple, letting you tap on objects, follow “Tonight’s Best” targets, or navigate in real time with your device. Once you select a target, Origin centers it, starts imaging automatically, and tracks the sky while keeping images sharp.

A Shared Cosmic Experience
Transform the way you experience the night sky by combining intelligent imaging technology with effortless sharing. Its built-in AI algorithms automatically process and enhance each frame in real time, just like a skilled astroimager would, without altering your original data. The result is vibrant, detailed images that reveal celestial wonders far beyond what the eye can see, all easily adjustable through the app. And the experience doesn’t stop there, multiple users can connect to the telescope, stream live views to their own devices, or cast them to a smart TV.

Expand Your Astroimaging Possibilities
The Origin Mark II grows with you, offering advanced features and accessories that expand its capabilities as your astrophotography skills develop. Its built-in filter drawer accepts standard 1.25” and 2” filters like the Nebula Filter for Origin, allowing you to enhance nebula imaging under light-polluted skies or boost brightness for galaxies and star clusters from darker locations. For deeper control, Origin automatically saves raw image files for manual stacking and editing, and even lets you schedule overnight imaging sessions, wake up to a gallery of celestial masterpieces. Advanced users can take performance further with optional accessories like the Wedge for NexStar Evolution and StarSense Autoguider, which align the system with Earth’s rotation for longer, sharper exposures and enhanced precision tracking. Together, these upgrades make the Origin Mark II a versatile, future-ready observatory for every level of explorer.

Capturing New Flat Frames
Flat frames are essential in astrophotography, helping correct for dust, vignetting, and other optical imperfections—but their accuracy depends entirely on matching your current imaging setup. Any time you rotate the camera or switch to a new sensor (when it becomes available), you need a new flat to maintain calibration precision. That’s where PrimaLuceLab GIOTTO for Celestron Origin comes in. We have partnered with PrimaLuceLab to specifically design an intelligent flat field generator for the Celestron Origin that makes it easy to capture fresh flat frames whenever adjustments are made. Seamlessly replacing the standard cap, GIOTTO for Origin integrates directly with the telescope and works with the Celestron app to update your calibration with every change—ensuring you always get the sharpest, cleanest images possible.

Gain a New Perspective Here on Earth
In addition to revealing distant worlds, Celestron Origin Mark II can also capture incredible views of land-based objects on Earth, day or night. During the day, you can manually slew to capture landscapes and scenery. At night, Origin’s fast optics and sensitive camera allow you to see things in very dim ambient conditions for almost night-vision-like performance. Look around your yard or campsite at night to see what you may be missing!
