Turn your Lunt 60mm Universal Telescope into a true high-contrast solar powerhouse with this 50mm front-mounted double-stack filter! Designed specifically for the LS60MT in its nighttime configuration — this compact tilt-tuned etalon unlocks dramatically richer solar detail with an ultra-narrow combined bandpass of <0.28Å when paired with the LS60MT’s internal pressure-tuned etalon.
The result? Darker backgrounds and even more intricate views of filaments, prominences, surface texture, and active solar regions that can be difficult to see with a single-stack system alone. Best of all, installation is quick and completely tool-free. The 50mm double stack mounts directly to the front of the telescope using the proper adapter and removes just as easily when you're ready to switch back to nighttime observing. Its unobstructed 50mm aperture preserves the sharp optical performance the LS60MT is known for while adding the unmistakable visual punch that double-stacking delivers.
Already own a compatible ED refractor?
The LS50FHa retrofits a compatible customer-supplied ED refractor for daytime solar observation and is easily removed for night use. A Lunt blocking filter must be used at all times — this is a safety requirement. Select the correct blocking filter for your telescope and intended use (sold seperately):
- B600 — visual use on telescopes up to 540mm focal length
- B1200 — visual use up to 1,080mm / imaging up to 540mm focal length
- B1800 — visual use up to 1,620mm / imaging up to 1,080mm focal length
