Focus your telescope quickly and accurately using Pegasus Astro's powerful Motor Focus Kit v2. This high resolution geared box has a 0.06 degree step size can can easily lift more than 6 Kg (per cm). Its high torque is suitable for lifting heavy imaging equipment. Moreover, the motor’s gearbox has low backlash which can easily be tuned out using backlash compensation in imaging software.
Pulley and belt design allows the motor to stay away from your filter wheel (and not collide with it) when you use a focal reducer. Its sophisticated bracket design can fit all Celestron SCTs as detailed below.
1. SCT L-shaped bracket (black anodized)
An L-shaped, black anodised, hard to bend aluminium bracket can be attached to most Celestron SCT scopes. In fact. Pegasus' customers have successfully installed it on:
- Celestron EdgeHD 8, 9.25, 11, 14 (13mm bore)
- Celestron SCT C6, C8, C925, C11, C14 (22mm bore)
- Celestron RASA 8 (13mm bore)
- Celestron RASA 14” (22mm bore)
Please note that the current version of this item features a black mounting bracket and blue motor box as shown in the first photo above. The colors are not reversed as shown in several other photos above.
2. What the Motor Focus Kit package includes
- High Resolution Stepper Geared Motor Enclosure (Step Angle 7.5, Deg 120, Gear Ratio 1:120). Its gearbox has very low backlash and high torque suitable to focus in micron scale.
- Black Aluminium Anodised Bracket for Celestron SCT Telescopes
- Timing Belt
- 13mm or 22mm pulley and scope-compatible bolts (see details below)
3. Three SCT versions
- Celestron Classic / Edge / RASA 6", 8" and 9.25" telescopes (sold separately)
- With 13mm metal pulley bore diameter and M3x15mm bolts
- Celestron Classic / Edge 11" telescopes (sold separately)
- With 22mm metal pulley bore diameter and M3x30mm bolts
- Not compatible with RASA 11" since that scope has a Feathertouch focuser knob, unless you have Celestron's "Focuser Retrofit Kit for RASA 11" # 94255"
