The Spectrum Optical SkyPilot 127 (SP127) is a complete all-in-one system for both visual observation and astrophotography. It features a 127 mm Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescope (MCT) paired with the smart MirroSky astro system. The included 53 mm ED refractor with an intelligent camera functions as both a finder/guide scope and an imaging device, helping users locate celestial objects quickly and easily via the MirroSky app. Its built-in smart technology allows the guidescope to navigate the night sky and point the telescope to targets automatically, requiring no manual star alignment. Additionally, the integrated Sony IMX662 CMOS sensor powers the imaging capabilities, capturing short-exposure images that are automatically aligned, stacked, and processed to produce detailed deep-sky photographs.
MirroSky Intelligent Astrosystem
Through the SP127 app plate-solving technology allows the MirroSky camera to determine its exact pointing location on a celestial map at any time and from any location. Plate-solving is a process that matches star patterns in the field of view to an internal celestial map database, enabling the telescope to pinpoint your setup’s exact position in the sky. With a database of over 100,000 objects, including Messier, NGC, and solar system targets, as well as each night’s most popular objects! You operate the SP127 mount directly from your smartphone or tablet, with no hand controller needed. Because it uses the MirroSky app, there’s no need for a GPS receiver to determine time, date, or location.
