Takahashi 0.8x Reducer/Flattener for Mewlon Series OTAs
This Takahashi reducer-flattener combination for the Mewlon Cassegrain reflector series shortens the focal length and ratio by 0.8x! This transforms the Dall-Kirkham into a faster ≈ f/9, along with increasing the field of view, it helps make targets brighter and accessible with shorter exposure times compared to prime focus alone!
Built with Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass and fully-multi coated, it not only compresses focal length but also acts as a field flattener and coma corrector. On a Mewlon-210, for example, it enlarges the usable image circle to about 30 mm in diameter, making it suitable for larger imaging sensors while maintaining excellent optical performance from center to edge.
