Please note: This ZWO Pro/Cooled camera must be powered from an external 12V DC power source with a minimum of 3 amps in order to run the TEC cooler and connect to your computer. The camera may not be recognized by a computer or operate properly if only the USB3.0 cable is connected to your computer. You can use ZWO’s 12V DC power supply, the DC Out port on an ASIAir or an external battery. These are not included with the camera.

ZWO’s 16 Megapixel Monochrome Astronomy Camera
The ZWO ASI1600GT is built around a 16 megapixel monochrome CMOS 4/3" sensor to enable serious imagers to capture wide-field vistas of deep-sky objects like nebulae, galaxies, and supernova remnants. This advanced monochrome astronomy camera has a resolution of 4656x3520 with 3.8 μm pixels and a 21.9 mm diagonal. The ASI1600GT astronomy camera is a new milestone for deep-sky imagers and comes at a fraction of the cost of far more expensive CCD cameras. And with regulated two-stage TEC cooling, this camera can cool the sensor up to 40C below ambient to keep noise low.
The fast USB3.0 interface on the ASI1600GT allow transfer rates of up to 23 frames per second at full 4656x3520 resolution at full 12-bit ADC. At reduced resolution of 640x480, download rates up to 80 fps become possible.
Integrated 5-Position Filter Wheel
The ASI1600GT includes an integrated internal 5-position electronic filter wheel (EFW) that accepts both 1.25” and 31mm filters (sold separately). The EFW is driven by a whisper quiet high grade stepper motor. The body of the EFW is CNC milled from an aircraft grade aluminum block finished in an attractive and hardwearing anodized finish. The inner surface of the EFW has been especially treated to prevent internal light reflections.
This camera also includes a 12V power output port along with a USB3.0 port and USB 2.0 Hub.
NOTE: The thickness of the 1.25” filter used with the integrated EFW cannot exceed 7mm (without threads), and the thread must be shorter than 2.5mm to avoid the filter wheel striking the camera housing.
DDR3 Memory Buffer and Fast Data Transfer
The camera includes an internal 256MB DDR3 buffer for quick and stable data transfer and reduced amp glow.
TEC Sensor Cooling and USB3.0 Data Ports and USB2.0 Hub
The TEC cooler is powered through a 2.1mm center-positive connector provides an input for the cooler power supply (not included). From the supply, the camera requires 12VDC @ 3A maximum.
The ASI1600GT incorporates also a USB2.0 hub for powering accessories such as a guide camera and electronic focuser.
The ASI1600GT has a robust and attractive CNC machined red-anodized aluminum body that stands up to heavy field use. An AR-coated glass window protects the sensor.
The camera has outer dimensions of 110mm X 110mm and weighs 800 grams (28.2oz).
