The ZWO Filter Drawer for EOS Lens allows you to attach any ZWO Pro model camera (cooled) to a Canon EF (full frame) lens while also allowing the use of 2" filters. This accessory is ideal for astrophotographers with cooled color ZWO cameras and Canon EF mount lenses. Please see the full compatibility list below to ensure this adapter is correct for your camera.
There are four Canon lens to ZWO camera adapters:
- ZWO Filter Drawer for Canon EOS Lens # FD-EOS - best for color cameras with use of a 2" filter (this product)
- ZWO Canon EOS Lens Adapter for 2" Electronic Filter Wheel # EFW2-EOS - best for large format monochrome cameras that use a 2" filter wheel
- ZWO Canon EOS Lens Short Adapter for Electronic Filter Wheel # EFW-EOS-II - best for small format monochrome cameras that use a 1.25"/31mm/36mm filter wheel
- ZWO T2 Thread to Canon EOS EF-Mount Lens Adapter for all ASI Cameras # EOS-T2-II - best for connecting most ZWO cameras without the need for quickly changing filters
Compatibility with Canon Lenses:
This adapter is compatible with Canon EF (full frame DSLR) Canon lenses only. It is not compatible with EF-S (crop sensor DSLR) lenses or Canon mirrorless lenses.
Compatibility with ZWO Cameras:
This ZWO adapter allows you to attach a Canon EF (full frame) EOS lens to almost all ZWO cooled cameras (except ASI GT series). The filter drawer is designed to work at 17.5mm back focus to the sensor, so if you have a smaller format ZWO camera like the ASI533MC Pro or ASI294MC Pro, you will need to have the 11mm extension that came with the camera attached.
It has a female EOS bayonet mount on the lens side and a male T/T2 (M42x0.75) thread on the camera side. This will connect directly to all ZWO cooled cameras with APS-C size or smaller cameras. Also included is an M54M-M42F adapter which allows you to use this filter drawer with full frame ZWO cameras like the ASI6200MC Pro.
Compatibility with Filters:
Please see the image below showing the size of the filter cell. It is compatible with most 2" filters with filter cells (not including the threads) that are 7.5mm and thinner.
How to Connect the ZWO Filter Drawer for Canon Lenses
The included M54M-M42F adapter is needed when connecting to full frame cameras like the ASI6200/2400.
