The ZWO T2 Thread to Nikon F-Mount Lens Adapter for ASI Cameras allows you to attach APS-C or smaller ZWO cameras to a Nikon F-Mount lens. Please see the full compatibility list below to ensure this adapter is correct for your camera.
There are four Nikon lens to ZWO camera adapters:
- ZWO Filter Drawer for Nikon Lens # FD-Nikon - best for color cameras with use of a 2" filter
- ZWO Nikon Lens Adapter for ZWO 2" Electronic Filter Wheel # EFW2-Nikon - best for large format monochrome cameras that use a 2" filter wheel
- ZWO Nikon Lens Short Adapter for ZWO 1.25”/31mm/36mm Electronic Filter Wheel # EFW-NIKON-II - best for small format monochrome cameras that use a 1.25"/31mm/36mm filter wheel
- ZWO T2 Thread to Nikon Lens Adapter for all ASI Cameras # NIKON-T2-II - best for connecting most ZWO cameras without the need for quickly changing filters (this product)
Compatibility with Nikon Lenses:
This adapter is compatible with Nikon F mount (DSLR) lenses only. It is not compatible with Nikon mirrorless lenses. NOTICE: G-type Nikkor lenses need to find some way to open the aperture up (for example, by using an orthodontic rubber band to hold the little aperture tab on the lens in the “open” position.)
Compatibility with ZWO Cameras:
This ZWO T2 adapter allows you to attach a Canon EF (full frame) EOS lens to most ZWO cameras (except full frame cameras including the ASI6200 series and the ASI2400). The filter drawer is designed to work at 17.5mm back focus to the sensor, so if you have a smaller format ZWO camera like the ASI533MC Pro or ASI294MC Pro, you will need to have the 11mm extension that came with the camera attached. It is also compatible with planetary cameras with 12.5mm back focus such as the ASI224MC, ASI462MC, and others with use of the included 5mm extension to reach 17.5mm.
It has a female EOS bayonet mount on the lens side and a male T/T2 (M42x0.75) thread on the camera side. This will connect directly to all ZWO cooled cameras with APS-C size or smaller cameras.
Compatibility with Filters:
This adapter is compatible with 2" filters, however, some users report that it is somewhat difficult to insert and remove the filter. For frequent filter changes, we recommend ZWO Filter Drawer for Nikon Lens # FD-Nikon.
How to Connect the Nikon Lens Adapter for All ASI Cameras:
1. With ASI cooled cameras (ASI533/183/294/1600/071/2600)
2. With ASI non-cooled cameras
- ASI1600/294/183/174 (17.5mm back focus length)
- ASI178/385/462/290/224/120 (12.5mm back focus length)
Specifications:
- 60mm diameter
- 34mm thickness
- M42*0.75 male (external) thread (camera side)
- M48*0.75 female (internal) thread (filter end)
- Suitable for 2-inch astronomical filter
Please Note: It is common for the silver plate on one side of this adapter to have several light scuff marks right out of the box. These items are new as received from ZWO, and these marks are purely cosmetic.
