OPTEC Lepus HD telecompressor for Celestron Edge HD OTAs
Unlock faster exposures and a wider imaging field with the Optec Lepus HD 0.62X Telecompressor, purpose-built for the Celestron EdgeHD 9.25, 11, and 14 optical tube assemblies. Designed specifically for these EdgeHD systems, the Lepus HD reduces focal length by 0.62X to deliver a wider field of view and faster effective focal ratio—ideal for deep-sky imaging and larger celestial targets. A large 3.25-inch Celestron rear-cell thread attaches directly to the telescope for a secure, rigid connection, while the camera side is designed for use with Lepus or VLC camera mounts featuring the OPTEC-2100 2.1-inch dovetail receiver.
For the EdgeHD 9.25-inch, a specific 5 mm spacer is required to maintain proper clearance between the reducer lens assembly and the telescope’s internal corrector optics. EdgeHD 11-inch and 14-inch models generally do not require this spacer, but still require a compatible Lepus HD camera mount to achieve the recommended back-focus distance. The Lepus HD does not include a camera-specific adapter, so a camera mount must be purchased separately to complete your imaging train. OPTEC sells M54x0.75, M48x0.75, and M42x0.75 (t-thread) adapters for camera attachement.
