- The f/3.3 shortens exposure times with brighter, more saturated wide-field images.
- Minimizes coma and spherical aberration for sharp stars edge to edge.
- Delivers improved sharpness and a large 44 mm image circle for modern sensors.
- Ideal for comets, extended nebulae, and sweeping deep-sky targets.
Small-Aperture Model, Compact and User-Friendly in Every Aspect!
The Epsilon series astrographs are imaging machines, engineered for jaw-dropping astrophotography! At the heart of each Epsilon is Takahashi’s proprietary optical design, featuring a hyperbolic concave primary mirror paired with a two-element corrector lens. This advanced combination virtually eliminates spherical aberration and coma, delivering pinpoint stars across the frame. Compared to traditional Schmidt camera designs, chromatic aberration is reduced by nearly 50%, even at wide viewing angles—so stars stay sharp and color-true from center to edge.
The E-130D builds on the legacy of the original Epsilon while introducing a newly developed digital corrector for modern sensors. This upgrade boosts overall sharpness and reduces spot size by one-third, matching the edge performance of the larger E-180 and producing a generous 44 mm image circle. An offset secondary mirror further improves illumination, ensuring uniform brightness across the entire field. With a massive 5.9° field of view, ultra-fast f/3.3 optics, and a compact 430 mm focal length, the ε-130D is a dream setup for wide-field targets like comets, sprawling nebulae, and rich star fields—shortening exposure times while enhancing color saturation and fine detail. Note: Price includes OTA only. Mount, tripod, tube holder, and finder are sold separately.

NGC1333 Captured with Epsilon-130D, ZWO ASI2600MM, and Chroma LRGB Filters by astrophotographer Juan Lopez.
