SkyEye45AC Plus: Stronger Cooling & Wider Compatibility!
The ToupTek SkyEye45AC Plus brings high-resolution, full-frame performance to serious deep-sky astrophotography. Powered by the Sony IMX366 full-frame CMOS sensor, it delivers an impressive 44.7 MP resolution with 4.40 µm pixels, capturing expansive fields of view with exceptional detail and sensitivity. Advanced two-stage TEC cooling reaches up to 40°C below ambient, while optimized amp-glow suppression and a 512 MB DDR3 buffer help deliver clean, stable data during long exposures. From sprawling nebulae to distant galaxies and dense star fields, the SkyEye45AC Plus is built to capture more of the night sky in remarkable detail.

Core Highlights of the SkyEye Plus
Shorter Back Focus

Every model uses an M54x0.75 female thread and includes a full-size M54 extension tube and adapter ring for a standard 55mm optical train. Removing the front adapters reduces the camera back focus to 12.5mm or 8.5mm for greater compatibility with optical systems and accessories.
Large Field of View

The Sony IMX366 back-illuminated full-frame sensor (35.9 x 23.9 mm) provides approximately 1.6× the field of view of APS-C models at the same focal length. Its 44.7 MP resolution captures expansive targets like M31 and the Veil Nebula with plenty of detail for cropping and enlargement.
Reduced Vignetting

The SkyEye Plus features an enlarged 43 x 31 mm sensor window, providing 26% more area to help reduce edge vignetting with fast optical systems. Color models include an IR-cut window for cleaner, more accurate color imaging.

Expanded Conectivity & Reinforced Power
The integrated 5-port USB hub (4xUSB 2.0, 1xUSB 3.0) allows direct connection of accessories such as filter wheels, guide cameras, and focusers, reducing cable clutter and simplifying setup.
The optimized power system maintains stable camera operation during continuous cooling and high accessory loads throughout an imaging session.
- Note: The SkyEye Plus camera body can operate from a 12V/3A supply. A DC 12V/5A supply is strongly recommended when using the USB hub. USB 3.0 is used only for high-speed data transfer and does not power the camera or connected accessories.

OSC or Mono: Finding the Right Fit
One-Shot Color (OSC) cameras streamline your workflow by capturing full-color images without a filter wheel, offering a fast and travel-friendly setup that is perfect for astrophotography beginners, mobile imagers, or anyone seeking high-quality results with minimal post-processing.
Monochrome (Mono) cameras deliver superior photon efficiency and pixel-level sharpness by eliminating the light loss and resolution interpolation of a Bayer matrix. Mono imaging is tailored for dedicated deep-sky astrophotographers who demand maximum sensitivity, ultimate narrowband performance (Ha, OIII, SII), and full control over composite LRGB rendering under any sky condition.

Built-in Sensor Tilt Adjustment & Convenient Calibration
The SkyEye Plus body includes three sets of precision adjustment screws, allowing the sensor plane to be aligned with the telescope focal plane without an additional accessory for more uniform stars across the field.
- Note: Avoid large adjustments. Loosen the opposing screw before turning any adjustment screw. For example, loosen the matching push screw counterclockwise before tightening a pull screw clockwise; otherwise, the mechanism may be damaged.
- The series also supports the SkyEye rear four-point sensor tilt ring. The replacement does not consume additional optical length and retains the standard 12.5mm/17.5mm back focus.

High-Speed Buffer, Stable Transfer
SkyEye45AC Plus supports USB 3.0 transmission and has a built-in DDR3 512MB cache to ensure reliable data transmission. At the same time, the cache can also greatly avoid the glow phenomenon caused by slow transmission speed, ensuring smooth shooting.

Powerful Cooling and Lower Dark Current
SkyEye45AC Plus adopts a newly upgraded TEC and active cooling system, combined with PID precise temperature control algorithm, which makes the temperature control more uniform. At the same time, the cooling temperature difference further breaks through to about 40°C, effectively suppressing thermal noise and dark current. When shooting all night, the long exposure dark field is pure and transparent, and higher quality images can be obtained after calibration.

Glow Suppression, Easy Calibration in Dark Field
SkyEye45AC Plus uses Sony's back-illuminated CMOS sensor, combined with self-developed hardware-level glow suppression technology, to achieve excellent low-glow performance and maintain good consistency under long exposure or high-gain conditions, which can be removed after dark field calibration.

Four-Level Anti-Dew Heating
The SkyEye Plus series optical window features an integrated smart heating system that actively measures ambient temperature and humidity. It automatically applies precise heat to prevent condensation, keeping your optical path crystal clear without introducing disruptive thermal air currents.
