OPTEC FocusLynx Dual-Focus Controller
Take command of your telescope’s focus system with the Optec FocusLynx Dual Focus Controller Hub, a powerful control center built for serious imagers and automated observatories. Designed to independently operate up to two compatible focusers at once, FocusLynx makes it easy to manage primary and secondary focus systems from a single compact hub. With built-in USB, Serial, and Ethernet connectivity, plus optional WiFi support, it integrates seamlessly into modern imaging rigs and remote setups. Full ASCOM compatibility and Optec’s FocusLynx Commander software provide precise autofocus control, multi-client access, and browser-based operation from a computer or smartphone. Whether you're upgrading a backyard rig or running a remote observatory, FocusLynx delivers professional-grade focus control with the flexibility to grow with your system. Optional hand controller and aluminum mounting plate upgrades make it easy to securely attach and operate the FocusLynx Hub.
Flexible Connectivity Options
The FocusLynx Control Hub serves as the central command center for connecting one or two focusers to your control PC or observatory network. Standard communication options include Serial, USB (with Optec USB/Serial cable), and wired Ethernet, with an optional WiFi board and antenna available for wireless operation at any time. Dedicated Focuser 1 and Focuser 2 ports are located on the top of the hub, while power, network, hand control, and serial connections are conveniently placed on the bottom. An optional aluminum mounting plate is also available for secure installation on a telescope pier or mount.
Smart Multi-Client Software Control
Built around the ASCOM Local Server model, Optec’s FocusLynx Commander software allows multiple software clients to connect to the hub simultaneously. Integrated web servers on both Ethernet and optional WiFi connections let the FocusLynx generate its own control interface, accessible through any web browser, tablet, or smartphone. Because the interface is hosted directly by the hub, setup is quick and simple—just connect your focusers and start controlling your system.
Broad Focuser Compatibility
The FocusLynx Control Hub supports a wide range of Optec focusers and motorized upgrades. Included with systems such as the TCF-Lynx, TCF-Lynx3, and FastFocus, it can function as a true absolute focus controller. When paired with Optec DirectSync, QuickSync, or the Starlight Instruments Handy Stepper Motor, FocusLynx can also automate TEC, Feather Touch, Stellarvue, and many other manual focusers. Special cables allow control of many unipolar motors, including MicroTouch and Robo-Focus systems. With the optional second stepper daughter board installed, the Focuser 2 port can independently operate a second focuser of nearly any supported type.
