LS60MT Enhanced Kit - 60mm Universal Day & Night Modular Telescope
The Lunt Solar Systems LS60MT Enhanced Kit is the absolute sweet spot for observers ready to step up to serious solar viewing and imaging without sacrificing versatility. Delivering outstanding value for just $200 more than the Standard model, this kit features an upgraded B1200 blocking filter that doubles your clear aperture—giving your camera sensor a full, unvignetted field of view for stunning solar photography. It also includes a premium 7.2–21.5mm zoom eyepiece, letting you smoothly transition from breathtaking full-disk views to high-magnification close-ups without ever swapping glass. Best of all, this system features Lunt's famous universal modular design: by day, its FPL51 ED doublet and <0.4Å pressure-tuned etalon reveal mind-blowing details on the Sun, and by night, the solar module removes in minutes to transform the telescope into a compact, high-contrast refractor for exploring the Moon, planets, and stars. It is the ultimate grab-and-go powerhouse for 24-hour astronomy.
Why This Package?
If you are ready to start capturing the Sun — or if you simply want the convenience of a zoom eyepiece for visual observing — this kit delivers both. The B1200 is the blocking filter that serious solar imagers choose: 12mm of clear aperture means your sensor sees the full unvignetted image circle. The zoom eyepiece is a genuine game-changer for solar sessions. Conditions change, targets move, and active regions evolve. Continuous magnification adjustment without changing glass means you are always at the right power for what is happening on the Sun. And like all Lunt 60mm systems, the Enhanced is fully double-stack capable — add a DS module at any time to bring combined system bandpass to <0.28Å ( sold separately ).
Please note: Mounts and tripods shown are for display purposes only and are not included with Solar Ready packages.
What You'll See
Everything the LS60MT reveals at 0.4Å bandpass, now with the optical clearance to put it on a sensor. The B1200's 12mm clear aperture ensures the full image circle reaches your camera without vignetting at focal lengths up to 1,200mm. Visually, the zoom eyepiece transforms the observing experience. Scan the full disk at low power to survey prominence activity and filament structure, then twist to higher magnification and resolve individual features in real time. No eyepiece swaps, no refocusing, no missed moments of good seeing. Near-parfocal design keeps focus close across the zoom range.
