Lunt Solar Systems has recently upgraded this telescope with a new 0.4Å etalon (standard), delivering even higher contrast and finer solar detail than previous versions. All orders will ship with this latest, improved configuration—no action needed.
- Premium solar kit includes everything needed to begin exploring the Sun in hydrogen-alpha right out of the box (mount and camera not included)
- Pressure-tuned etalons reveal incredible solar detail—prominences, filaments, and surface texture
- Dramatic H-alpha solar activity observation by day, then switch to deep-sky imaging at night in minutes
- Including the LS50FHaP Double Stack for ultra-narrow <0.28Å, delivering exceptional solar contrast
LS60MT Premium Kit - 60mm Double Stack Modular Telescope
The Lunt Solar Systems LS60MT Premium Kit is the ultimate expression of the 60mm platform, engineered for astronomers who refuse to compromise on detail. This powerhouse setup features an included double-stack, front-mounted filter that narrows the bandpass to an incredible <0.28Å, revealing mind-blowing chromospheric details—like cellular plage networks and intricate filament threads—that single-stack telescopes simply cannot resolve. This kit includes a generous B1200 blocking filter for unvignetted solar imaging, a premium 7.2–21.5mm zoom eyepiece, and an extended 6" Vixen dovetail for perfect balance. True to Lunt’s famous universal architecture, this system works overtime: by day, it delivers jaw-dropping, ultra-high-contrast views of the Sun, and by night, both solar modules remove in minutes to transform the instrument into a premium 70mm f/6 ED nighttime refractor for exploring the stars. Individually bench-tested and verified, the Premium Kit is the definitive 24-hour astronomy investment.
Why This Package?
The LS50FHaP Double Stack filter is included. The B1200 blocking filter provides 12mm of clear aperture for full imaging capability. The 2" dual-speed focuser with 10:1 fine focus handles every accessory you own. The 6" Vixen dovetail provides the extended rail length to balance the system with the double-stack filter mounted. The zoom eyepiece covers every magnification you need in a single twist.
Please note: Mounts and tripods shown are for display purposes only and are not included with Solar Ready packages.
What You'll See
At <0.28Å combined bandpass through 60mm of aperture, the chromosphere comes alive with structure invisible at wider bandwidths. Plage boundaries sharpen into defined cellular networks. Filaments resolve into multi-strand structures with complex internal detail. Active regions reveal the full depth of their magnetic architecture. Prominences show threading, flow, and structural evolution from base to tip that single-stack instruments render as smooth featureless arcs.
By night, remove the solar module and double-stack filter and you have a premium 70mm f/6 FLP51 ED doublet refractor — lunar detail, planetary colour correction, and deep-sky capability all included in a single instrument.
