Lunt Solar Systems has recently upgraded this telescope with a new 0.45Å etalon (standard), delivering even higher contrast and finer solar detail than previous versions. All orders will ship with this latest, improved configuration—no action needed.
- Standard solar kit includes everything needed to begin exploring the Sun in hydrogen-alpha right out of the box (mount and camera not included)
- Pressure-tuned etalons reveal incredible solar detail—prominences, filaments, and surface texture
- Dramatic H-alpha solar activity observation by day, then switch to deep-sky imaging at night in minutes
- Optional double-stack front-mounted filter available for ultra-narrow <0.28Å (sold separately)
LS60MT Standard Kit - Lunt’s Most Versatile Solar Telescope!
The LS60MT Standard Kit is one of Lunt’s most versatile solar telescopes, combining dedicated hydrogen-alpha solar observing with nighttime astronomy in one compact system. Built around a premium 70mm FLP51 ED doublet objective, the LS60MT delivers detailed solar views by day and easily converts into a capable refractor for lunar, planetary, and deep-sky observing at night.
Now upgraded with Lunt’s new-generation etalons, every LS60MT is individually tested and verified using Lunt’s precision metrology equipment to ensure consistent performance and a true 0.4Å bandpass. The internal pressure-tuned hydrogen-alpha system provides uniform contrast across the entire field while allowing you to fine-tune your view of prominences, filaments, and surface detail with simple pressure adjustments. The telescope also features a smooth 2" dual-speed focuser with 10:1 fine focusing for precise visual observing and astrophotography performance. Whether you're exploring the dynamic solar chromosphere during the day or switching over to nighttime observing after sunset, the LS60MT offers an incredibly flexible all-in-one astronomy experience.
Please note: Mounts and tripods shown are for display purposes only and are not included with Solar Ready packages.
Why This Package?
If you want one telescope that does it all, this is it. The LS60MT eliminates the choice between a dedicated solar scope and a nighttime refractor. The modular design means you switch modes in minutes. The 2" dual-speed focuser with 10:1 fine focus is included from the start, providing the mechanical precision that both solar and nighttime observing demand. ZWO EAF compatible for automated focus control.
What You'll See
By day, explore the Sun in stunning hydrogen-alpha detail with glowing prominences, dark filaments, and active solar regions visible across the chromosphere. The pressure-tuned 0.4Å system allows you to fine-tune your view and reveal different layers of solar activity, while the 60mm aperture delivers brighter, more detailed views than smaller solar telescopes.
By night, the telescope easily converts into a capable ED refractor for observing the Moon, planets, double stars, and bright deep-sky objects. With sharp ED optics and the same smooth focuser and mount setup, you get both a dedicated solar telescope and a nighttime refractor in one versatile system.
